Dallas- Part Two

Dallas turned out to be a pretty good experience. The gang went out to a club called Purgatory, which turned out to be a popular Hispanic spot. The music was a good mix of rap and Latin. People partied full-throttle until 2 a.m. This is the only thing truly unappealing about Texas nightlife. If you are from or have visited places like New Orleans and Chicago where the clubs don’t die down until 4 or later (or earlier depending on how you look at it), it might be a little disappointing. So, we recommend planning a visit to an after hours spot.Gigi’s was also a cool place we visited while we where in Dallas. TI was there that night, women were free until 11 and it seems that everyone was on the dance floor. The VIP area was very nice and worthwhile to have a little space from the crowded dance floor. It was one of the best clubs I have visited in Texas, despite its closing around two as well. It was also just down the street from our hotel, the Radisson Inn on North Central Expressway. Of course, this place was close to everything and you can stay there for a reasonable price if you plan ahead and are able to negotiate discounts or group rates. However, there are a lot of reasonably priced hotels along this expressway, so don’t feel pressured to overextend your budget. There are also several restaurants close by. Just as a little anecdote, several of our crew were new to Texas. We stopped at a What-a-Burger just to pick up a snack and some of the people noticed the slightly higher average price of their meals. But when they saw their portions, everyone stopped dead. No one was even able to eat later that evening at dinner. Let’s just say everything really is bigger in Texas! If you are thinking of moving, Dallas seems to have jobs a plenty. There were several advertisements for lasik surgery, so Dallas must be a center for lasik research or experts in lasik surgery. There is also an abundance of factory and office jobs. By the way, there are also many recreational parks, amusement parks and attractions to see. The Kennedy Memorial is located there and everyone should visit the Galleria, even if you can’t afford a thing that’s in there! Prada, Gucci, Rolex, and Cartier are only a few of the names boasted on signs as you walk through the massive mall. It is very similar to the Galleria Mall located in Houston, Texas. Hotels and airfare are reasonable from many major US cities if you plan your trip ahead of time and search the web for deals. Expedia and Cheap Tickets had the best deals we could find for groups traveling to Dallas. If you are looking for a city with fun nightlife, lots of entertainment and a small town feel, check out Dallas.

Dallas- Part One

This post comes to you live from Dallas, Texas. Although we've just arrives, I can tell that I am in for some fierce clubbing tonight. Dallas seems to be a pretty big, very compact city, so it is disorienting. But, this is a club in the back of my ritzy hotel, so it seems promising. This will be updated on what's cracking in Dallas after things have settled down and after the BLAZING sun has gone down.
